The Claypool Gold tour is a special show featuring the music of bassist & singer Les Claypool & his 3 main bands: Primus, Les Claypool’s Fearless Flying Frog Brigade & The Claypool Lennon Delirium. The tour stops at the Long Beach Amphitheater on Friday, July 3, 2026.

Grammy nominated Primus will play a great selection of songs that the band loves to play live including “Jerry Was a Race Car Driver” and “My Name Is Mud”. In addition the three bands will also throw in some experimental takes on some of the bands more well known songs. These three bands of genre-bending funk metal and experimental rock are brought to you by the man who composed the theme song for South Park, Les Claypool.

Gates will open at 6:00PM for the special show. The venue is a fantastic waterfront location, offering breathtaking coastal views. It can hold 12,000 per night and tickets are $49.

Descending upon the Long Beach Amphitheater in Southern California on Friday, July 3rd, 2026 is one of the most experimental, groundbreaking, and extraordinary nights of live rock, funk, metal, and psych music of the year.

The Claypool Gold tour hits the road, traveling across the US, stopping in places like San Diego, Napa, and many more in between.

Primus

Since their inception in 1984 in the Bay Area, Primus has been bringing their innovative and unique blend of Funk, Rock, Metal and Progressive music to fans across the globe. Performing to sold out crowds worldwide, Les Claypool and his bandmates deliver quirky, offbeat and humorous lyrics combined with virtuoso performances to showcase each song. The newly appointed drummer, John Hoffman, will be joining Les on bass/sax and vocals, along with the return of Larry “Ler” LaLonde on guitar.

From iconic rock songs such as “Jerry Was a Race Car Driver,” “My Name Is Mud,” “Southbound Pachycere,” and “Wynona’s Big Brown Beaver” to the legendary songs found on successful albums like Sailing the Seas of Cheese, Pork Soda, and Tales from the Punchbowl, which have all garnered platinum and gold sales, and garnered the group two Grammy nominations for Best Hard Rock Performance and Best Surround Sound Album. Primus is credited with composing and performing the iconic opening theme song to the hit animated TV series South Park, which has been played at the opening of each episode since its debut in 1997. 

Les Claypool's Fearless Flying Frog Brigade and The Claypool Lennon Delirium

There are several notable musical projects of Les Claypool including the experimental group Les Claypool’s Fearless Flying Frog Brigade and The Claypool Lennon Delirium. As a member of The Claypool Lennon Delirium, Les teams up with Sean Lennon and the duo creates a cosmos of sound. This duo creates surreal sounds and takes listeners on a creative musical journey through their songs and will play many of the songs from the newly released live album “The Return of the Live Frogs Vol. 1.”

Long Beach Amphitheater Information

The Long Beach Amphitheater is located at 1051 Queens Hwy, Long Beach, CA 90802, the largest outdoor amphitheater on the West Coast it holds up to 12,000 people, of which 11,000 are seated. The venue has a wide array of seating options including Grandstand, Floor, Box, Pit and even VIP seating. There are also many premium experiences available, seating up to 12 people maximum, including the Box Suites and Loge Seating. Both suites include lounge access and priority parking. At Long Beach Amphitheater there is a wide variety of great SoCal food and top craft beers and specialty cocktails to purchase and enjoy at the show. 

Parking Information

No parking is available at the venue. However, there are many lots throughout downtown Long Beach that offer free shuttle service to the Amphitheater. Some of the lots also offer pre-paid parking and guaranteed accessible parking for patrons that need it. There are also many lots that are within walking distance to the venue, approximately 25-30 minutes. In addition to parking, there are many other ways to get to the Long Beach Amphitheater including Rideshare, Water Taxi, and more.
